Hi! We are Shannon and Brad, a happy young couple in our 30s & 40s. Last year, we appealed to The Spec to find a place to live for the winter, and it worked. We're back! We are looking to connect with a snowbird couple and then take all the necessary steps to create a safe, legitimate living arrangement between us. We can keep your home in good condition and under a watchful eye while you're away for the winter.

 

     During the summers, we live on our family farm in a luxury park model trailer. This is an excellent way to save for a down payment on a home. The mortgage will be used to build a house on the farm. Not only do we hope to keep saving some money throughout the winter; we also need to connect with someone who has a pulse, because property management companies tend to want a one year lease - however we won't be staying anywhere that long.

 

     We spent our first winter in a room; in a house with a single mom and her sons. Last year, we did find some snowbirds, but they actually moved to Belize - and so we turned the house over to their children. We have good references from both parties, and now we're looking for our third placement. It would be ideal to find some perennial snowbirds, however we are also open to traditional rentals.

     Brad works management in a car parts warehouse, and I'm a self employed cleaning lady with many long time clients. We're hard working, honest people. I'm from the Burlington/Oakville area by origin. Brad is from Moncton, NB and has been here with me for about 7 years. (We have 8 together as I did live in Moncton for a year.) We can stay anywhere from Mississauga to Hamilton and beyond. Brad works in the Burloak area and I work the west GTA.

 

     You're welcome to come and see us. You'll meet ourselves, my father, and even the animals if you like. You can see our little home and how well we keep it. Brad is quite handy. It's a Cayuga address, but we're actually just a 10 minute drive from Dunnville. We can clear criminal record checks, provide identification as well as anything else you need to feel secure. We would never be offended by your need to be sure that this is safe...This is your home, your world, your most valuable and important possession. You need to be sure that it's in good hands.

If you've been leaving your house vacant during the winters and you want to stop, or if you just picked up your new winter dwelling in the sunny South, you can get the ball rolling on getting yourself a watchful eye by giving us a shout. We don't expect any kind of payment for this arrangement. We benefit enough as it is just from having a good place to stay.
